Children & Youth

We believe that every child is wonderful, created in the image of God.

You're Invited

To be part of a weekly experience of worship, learning, fun, and creativity for the entire family.

We believe that every child is wonderful, created in the image of God. Our hope is to provide a foundational and enriching environment for our children and youth, enabling them to experience God’s love, grow in their Christian faith and discipleship, and discover opportunities for service within the church and in the broader community.

Sunday School during Worship

Children ages 4-18 years old engage in a weekly class with arts and crafts and Bible stories, while building meaningful relationships with each other. Children leave together for their class after the Children’s Sermon. To ensure the safety of our children, all staff and volunteers who work with children participate in a background screening process.

Children in Worship

Children of all ages are welcomed into the worship service. A nursery is located on the second floor for children ages 0-3, as needed by families. There is also a welcome area at the back of the sanctuary with books, coloring supplies, and quiet toys to help parents of restless children.

Each week, children are invited to the front steps of the sanctuary for a Children’s Sermon. Following this, children go together to a Sunday School class.

Older children are invited to lead in worship on a regular basis by reading scripture and prayers, serving as ushers and greeters, or sharing musical talents. Younger children have opportunities to lead by lighting candles, helping their parents, or joining the Children’s Pageants.

Yes, we have weekly Sunday School for children ages 4 and up and a nursery for children 0-3.

All ages of children are invited to attend worship with their families at 10 am. Near the beginning of the service, there is a Children’s Message, and then children go upstairs together with their teachers for Sunday School.

We have periodic events for families and children, such as apple-picking and hayrides in the fall, a weeklong Vacation Bible School and Service Trips in the summer. Each December there is a Children’s Christmas Program.

Check out our Children’s Ministry page for more information or contact us.

Yes! The nursery is located on the second floor, at the top of the stairs nearest the parking lot entrance. The nursery is open to receive children ages 0-3 years from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm on Sundays. There is also a Parents & Infants Room located on the Main Floor next to the restroom. It contains a rocking chair and changing table and supplies, so that parents of infants and toddlers may have a private place for feeding, rocking, and changing their children.
The joyful noises of children are always welcome at Community Church, but if you need a separate space for restless children, a welcome area is provided in the vestibule at the back of the sanctuary with a children’s “Pray-ground” of coloring books and quiet toys.
Children are welcome to receive communion at any age at their parents’ discretion. Communion at our church is open to all people who profess trust in Jesus Christ, regardless of age or religious background.
Yes, our Sunday School teachers, ministry staff, nursery staff, and Vacation Bible School volunteers all participate in background screening.
