You are free to be yourself

Welcome to Community!

Community Church of Providence is a place where you are free to be yourself. Like the city of Providence, we are a global community and a close knit one. Diverse in ethnicity, history, worship styles and theology, we come together to follow Jesus and form deep and caring relationships, creating a space for community to grow. Our worship is friendly and casual with an eclectic blend of musical styles, interactive time for children, and engaging preaching. Rooted in the idea of “soul freedom,” we honor and celebrate the story of each person. We would love to hear yours!

First Time Visitor Info

Our parking lot is on the North (rear) side of the building and is one-way, accessed from Hobart Ave (the West side of the parking lot). Street parking is available on the other three sides of the building and is always available and free.

On Sunday mornings, all doors to the church are unlocked after 9:15 am and the Sanctuary is easy to enter from every door. There is an accessible entrance located on Wayland Avenue with a ramp. The closest parking spot for the accessible entrance is at the far end of the parking lot, adjacent to the Wayland Avenue entrance.

The church office is open during the week, Tuesday thru Friday, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. On weekdays, use the rear door located by the parking lot or the accessible entrance on Wayland Avenue. Both of these doors have bells to ring for entry.

The weekly Order of Worship is located on a welcome table at the rear of the Sanctuary and on a stand near the front entrance of the Sanctuary. The pews contain visitor cards, and we invite you to fill one out and place it in the offering plate toward the end of the service.
Main Floor restrooms are located near the parking lot entrance at the back of the building. There are additional restrooms in the basement of the building.
The nursery is located on the second floor, at the top of the stairs nearest the parking lot entrance. The nursery is open to receive children ages 0-3 years from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm on Sundays. There is a Parents & Infants Room located on the Main Floor next to the restroom. It contains a rocking chair and changing table and supplies, so that parents of infants and toddlers may have a private place for feeding, rocking, and changing their children.
