We count on volunteers like you to lead in multiple ways. From visioning and decision-making
to getting out the table saw or paintbrush and tackling a project, our volunteers
are talented and generous with their time.
This group keeps our church spruced up for every season with flowers, table arrangements, and wall hangings.
These volunteers plan meals and special events like Friendsgiving, the Outdoor Worship Potluck, or a Visit from Santa Christmas Party.
Our Sunday School teachers serve in a rotation and teach the children’s class once every six weeks. These volunteers must participate in a background screening process.
“The Band” plays each Sunday morning, leading us in worship, under the direction of Daniel Hill, Music Director. We are always looking for talented musicians to join the band, as well as soloists (vocal or instrumental) for periodic special music.
Various parts of the worship service are led by lay people. We invite volunteers weekly to read scripture, offer prayers, and give Children’s Sermons.
Are you skilled with a hammer? Our building is magnificent and very large, so we depend on volunteers to help our sextons keep it humming and loved.
Community Church is a democratically organized congregation. Our Board of Administration is elected annually by the congregation to make decisions about finances, church projects, and church vision and mission.
Our Deacons are church members who share in the pastoral care of the congregation by reaching out to others in need, coordinating mission efforts, and sharing in worship leadership and our monthly Communion service.
These are the first faces that visitors see when they come in on Sunday morning, handing out programs and welcoming each person. Ushers also collect the morning offerings during worship.
We are blessed to have a wealth of theological wisdom and pastoral experience in our congregation. From time to time, these amazing people offer the sermons or teach an adult class. Anyone with an area of expertise that connects with the church’s mission is invited to propose a class or series.
Are you an artist? Do you dance? Do you garden or sew or teach languages? We are always open to new gifts and ideas.
